Jordan is also close and shares some of the same history. Why not complete your journey with a visit to astonishing Petra, Dhana's beautiful nature reserve, the archaeological marvels of Jerash or Lawrence of Arabia's Wadi Rum desert?
We have been exploring Jordan for many years; searching for its hidden natural pearls and we found a real treasure trove
All year long – Medium to difficult
Petra is an astonishing, a unique and huge site (40 hectares – 99 acres!).
Most visitors see only a tiny part of missing lots of its magnificent hidden places.
We are so passionate with its splendour and made it our task to explore the hidden trails. Now our knowledge of Petra trails is outstanding. We strongly recommend you dedicate at least two days to this location alone.
With us, you will hike along deserted paths in colourful sandstone canyons whose walls have been sculpted by men two thousand years ago, have a picnic lunch among the remains of a Crusader castle overlooking the main site, reach Petra by it's "back door" away from the crowds, climb to the tomb of the Prophet Haroun (Aaron) and look down at breath-taking vistas of the Aravah valley… all that without missing any of the classic sites.
October to April – Easy to difficult
Wadi Rum was Lawrence of Arabia's favourite place - and he was a connoisseur of deserts!
There, you feel like in the middle of a movie set, it is so impressive and almost unreal.
Trekking, short hikes, jeep and camel tours, anything you want is possible with the help of our Bedouin friends.
Dhana nature reserve
All year long – Easy to medium
Dhana is the kind of place most visitors to Jordan never go to, it is in fact one of the natural jewels in the Royal Jordanian crown.
Part of an ecotourism project implemented by Queen Noor it includes an old village that is being restored, a handicrafts cooperative and a beautiful pastoral nature reserve.
Easy hikes from the village to the reserve and around Rumana Mountain.
All year long – Easy
Jerash is one of the major archaeological sites in the Middle-East. It's colonnade street, theatre, impressive temples, monumental gates are not to be missed by amateurs of Greek Roman vestiges.
